Bid Writer - SC Clearance, High Value Selling, Shipley Win Business, drafting, reviewing, editing technical / commercial content

This role requires SC clearance, you must be eligible and willing to undergo the SC process in order to obtain the role.

We are looking for a Bid Writer to join our team of consultants at Experis. Working on-site (in Malvern or remotely) with one of our clients you will be responsible for supporting the creation of logical, articulate and clearly written submissions in line with the agreed bid strategy. As a specialist writer / editor you will also support the development of improved writing capability across business development.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate complex issues in writing in an accessible and engaging manner
  • Seek out key information proactively from a variety of sources, including written/online materials and knowledge held by busy senior staff, converting this into accurate prose.
  • Organise own time effectively, meeting deadlines while showing good attention to detail and maintaining quality
  • Share and embed best practise approaches to bid writing to improve writing standards
  • To lead the review and update of technical and commercial written content for specific bids, focusing on a clearly structured written response that meets the requirements of internal stakeholders and customer scoring criteria
  • Support the development and maturation of bidding' writing capability and the coaching of others

Requirements:

  • Advanced IT skills especially in Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Knowledge and personal experience of bid management processes, including storyboarding and/or proposal planning and management.
  • Excellent communicator
  • A high attention to detail with an excellent editing and proofing ability
  • Excellent literacy skills, with an extensive vocabulary
  • Ability to thrive in a busy environment, working to deadlines through multitasking and prioritising work
  • Demonstrable effective bid writing skills, ideally within the defence industry
  • Familiarity with industry-standard bid methodologies, such as Shipley
  • Degree level educated or equivalent in relevant discipline
  • Strong understanding and experience in delivery of High Value Selling, Shipley Win Business or similar sales operating models
  • Proven track record in the contribution to winning competitive bids
  • Demonstrable understanding and experience in drafting, reviewing and editing technical and commercial written content
  • Have the interpersonal skills to succeed by networking and integrating across formal organisation boundaries
  • Strong communication skills, underpinning proactive & efficient stakeholder / customer management
