Bid Writer - up to £32,000+ plus benefits. FTSE 250 organisation.

I am recruiting a bid Writer on behalf of a market leading FTSE 250 organisation that operates across defence, rail, and power, nuclear and marine. Operating globally, the business provides critical engineering support for both private and public sector clients.

As the Bid Writer you will produce professionally written proposal content that clearly articulates the organisations value proposition. Be able to write effective, concise and compelling content while under the pressure associated with deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Bid team in developing a proposal structure
  • Check the rules to be followed in writing the bid or pre-qualification questionnaire
  • Gather evidence and collect data to answer the bid or pre-qualification questions
  • Re-write / edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from marketing, engineering, finance, commercial, legal and delivery
  • Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant
  • Design, write, edit and check bid documents
  • Keep accurate records and save material to a 'bid library' for future use
  • Lead storyboard sessions with bid / proposal team members and key stakeholders
  • Talk and listen to clients and interpret client scoring criteria to understand their needs and values
  • Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts
  • Put across technical information in easy-to-understand ways, including use of graphics
  • Submit bids and support the process through to completion, keeping to strict deadlines
  • Coach teams and subject matter experts in writing best practice

Ideal Candidate

  • Required: Degree educated ideally English Literature, Journalistic, Marketing or professional writing background.
  • Ideally: Certified to APMP Foundation Level or working towards.
