They work closely with project teams and professionals within the bidding team including attending bid solutions meetings and maintaining/developing a bid library of quality written submissions templates. They will have the opportunity to contribute ideas towards the continuous improvement and development of the department's processes.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver completed written responses against agreed deadlines, escalating issues as requiredRe-write / edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from operations, project management, technical, commercial, procurement and social impactSupport sessions with bid teams (made up of business winning and operational personnel) members to create and manage the bid structure, content and final responseProactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevantPresent all new bid content to the proposal managers for potential re-use Update internal CRM systemsImplementation of all necessary bid procedures, governance and processesWhat do I need to do the role?Experience/Qualifications/SkillsEssential:Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject such as English, Marketing, Journalism or a sector relevant subject (i.e. nuclear, civil engineering or construction) - this would be an advantageThe Bid Writer will be working as part of an experienced team and have the opportunity to continuously learn and develop their professional writing career including the chance to work towards professional qualifications.Have a strong academic record of accomplishment and level of general education, particularly with English Language and Literature.Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines by managing your own workload effectively.Be skilled in researching and interpreting the subject matter for each bid in order to extract the relevant you will need to create proposal submissions and solutions.Strong organisational traits and ability to respect and meet deadlinesStrong communicator - to underpin quality of outgoing proposal documents in engaging with all other stakeholders participating and contributing to each proposal (this may include resources external to Cavendish Nuclear)Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite particularly WordAbility to work under pressure in meeting deadlines - not just bid submission dates but also interim milestones e.g. reviewsDesirable:Skills in operating (or ability to quickly develop) InDesign and/or other creative software products - used on some proposalsKnowledge of the wider (i.e. beyond just proposal writing) Babcock Business Winning processKnowledge of SharePoint administration so to assist 'Bid Site' developmentExperience of working in the Nuclear industryMembership of an industry professional bodyApplication GuidanceIf you are currently employed by Babcock/Cavendish Nuclear please let your line manager know that you're applying for this vacancy.
