This is a full-time position where rotational shifts including overnight working is required.

What does the role involve?

* Prioritises, organises and delegates responsibilities and workloads within the team, to ensure effective delivery of care
* Manages all HR issues i.e. sickness absence as necessary
* Authorises Epay staff payments and other claims
* Act as an autonomous practitioner, assessing patient's physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan, working in collaboration with other healthcare professionals and as part of the prison's multi-disciplinary team.
* To Ensure patients are assessed and treated according to care pathways and Policy.
* Ensure adherence to Health and Justice Indicators of Performance/Her Majesty's Inspector of Prisons and CQC expectations.
* Ensure that all patient care is delivered in a clinically effective and timely way, in line with the establishments health needs.
* Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control standards
* Initiate and contribute to strategies designed to promote and improve health and prevent disease, working proactively and collaborating with other agencies.
* Maintain record keeping competencies and patient confidentiality, in accordance with Bristol Community Health and Prison Service policies and the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Conduct.
* Demonstrate awareness of wider issues affecting the prison population, e.g. mental illness, alcohol and drug dependencies, together with strategies and support mechanisms to address these.

What skills/qualifications are required?

* Experience of working within Clinical Substance Misuse
* Willingness to develop an area of specialist interest
* Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
* Computer literate
* Level 1 RGN/RMN (Adult) Degree Registered Nurse
* NMC Registration
* RCGP1
* Evidence of continued professional development post registration.
* Commitment to attend relevant specialist courses
