Band 6 - Clinical Team Leader

£26,302 to £35,225 per annum (pro rata)

sjb medical are proud to be seeking a band 6 clinical team leader to work within a local Prison in Bristol.

The successful band 6 healthcare professional will be responsible for supporting the urgent care team with all practice within the service including the clinical management of patients attending 'See and Treat' interventions.

This important and essential position also requires the determination the correct clinical pathway and signposting to the most appropriate clinic intervention or referral if required.

This is a full-time role where rotational shifts including night working may be required.

What does the role involve?

  • Act as an autonomous practitioner, assessing patient's physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan, working in collaboration with other healthcare professionals and as part of the prison's multi-disciplinary team
  • Take charge of the clinical area under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager
  • Supervise and support junior or unregistered staff in the process of care delivery
  • Initiate and contribute to strategies designed to promote and improve health and prevent disease, working proactively and collaborating with other agencies
  • Facilitate change in practice that will improve clinical outcomes and meet the needs of patients consistent with national standards and current research/evidence
  • Deal with distressing circumstances including security incidents and death in custody
  • Manage all human resources issues i.e. sickness absence as necessary
  • Be responsible for completing the staffing rotas, ensuring appropriate staffing and skill mix and maintaining adequate cover at all times

What skills/qualifications are required?

  • Registration as a Nurse or Paramedic with experience at Band 5 or Band 6
  • PACR
  • Experience of working within Urgent Care Setting desirable
  • Willingness to develop area of specialist interest
  • Experience of appraisal and clinical supervision
  • Excellent leadership skills with ability to prioritise
