I am recruiting 2 Baggage Hall Standards Officers to work for a leading support services organisation that adds value through delivering integrated airport solutions to key travel hubs, such as the Heathrow Airport.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a team of like-minded professionals to monitor and uphold baggage hall standards, and in particular, the enforcement of all baggage related OSI (Operational Safety Instructions), as laid down by the client at Heathrow Airport.

Responsibilities:

  • To cover peak traffic flows to ensure smooth operation in all baggage facilities and their aprons.
  • Engage with airlines / handlers and third parties to improve the HBO - Heathrow Baggage Operations Safety culture.
  • To enforce relevant Heathrow OSI's, Byelaws, etc. within baggage facilities and associated aprons, issuing Airside Caution Notices where appropriate.
  • Report potential H&S hazards / infrastructure damage and raise faults with the HAL faults line.
  • Carry out speed compliance checks with hand held speed guns. Liaise with Airside Roads Team on speed gun use.
  • Attend accidents / incidents within baggage facilities and associated aprons, to assist BSM / BOC / Airside Roads teams.
  • Deal with traffic issues - congestion / diversions, and marshal traffic as necessary in case of incidents - evacuations / project works etc.
  • Collate compliance data and generate daily/monthly reports of findings and infringements. Circulate as required, share outputs with the client and target improvement areas.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider BHSO team and support and assist the SHEQ Advisors & Head of SHEQ as required.
  • Promote company values and standards and exhibit appropriate behaviour in accordance with Company ethos.



Ideal Requirements:

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Hold a full Driving Licence as will be required to gain ADP to drive airside.
  • Eligible to obtain a valid Airside Pass.
  • Good communication skills and ability to articulate well.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
