Avionics and Control Systems Team Leader (Avionics Control Engineer) required for fast growing Bristol based Aerospace Company offering interesting and varied work with and the chance to work on exciting and innovative new projects!

As Avionics and Control Systems Team Leader (Avionics Control Engineer) you will lead a small very technically competent team to develop from the ground up the Flight Control System, Electrical Architecture, and Software for this new aircraft. The successful candidate must have a fundamental knowledge of control systems design and analysis with some practical real-life implementation experience. An aerospace background or physics-based modelling experience is required.

The Role:

* Avionics and Control Systems Team Leader (Avionics Control Engineer)

* Leading, motivating and engaging a dynamic and technically experienced team

* The development of system architecture proposals and definitions to aerospace standards

* The analysis and specification of system requirements including the communication, functional and physical elements of the system meeting the Means of Compliance standards required by the authorities

* The management of suppliers delivering components or systems to the project

* Generating system architecture diagrams, circuit drawings, and code for the project

* Development of a simple Human Machine Interfaces for the pilot/users

* Assist with the build and fault-finding of the project

The Person:

* Experience leading a small team

* Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or similar

* Strong fundamental aerospace control theory

* Experience designing, building and testing complex yet robust control systems

* Strong mathematical/statistical fundamentals

* Proficiency in at least one modern programming language

* Experience in avionics data transfer standards such as ARINC 429, ARINC 629 and CAN bus

* Experience on developing systems with compliance of DO-178 / DO-254
