Automation / Manual Tester - TV Devices
Location: West London

We are actively looking to secure several experienced Automation / Manual Testers to join Experis.

Role Description:

Our Client is one of the fastest growing Internet TV providers in the UK, competing against the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime.

We are looking for several Automation / Manual Testers who have a background in the TV / Media broadcast industry to join our Client and work within the Scrum team. Te Testers will work closely with Software Developers and other QA engineers, to deliver the highest quality products in a timely manner. Testing new feature developed in sprints applicable across a multitude of TV Devices like LG, Samsung, Xbox and or web, Youi tv.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work to create and execute testing activities to ensure new or amended services meet requirements.
  • Carry out manual functional testing and regression testing across desktop browsers and TV devices, reporting, managing and escalating any defects raised
  • Promote testing at all steps of the development cycle
  • Perform a wide range of behavioural driven development (BDD) activities
  • Assist the teams with planning, writing, executing and automating test scripts
  • Communicate testing results, coverage and making recommendations where necessary
  • Participate in the delivery of projects across platform and support the business objectives

Required Skills:

  • Manual Testing experience across for web and TV devices application
  • Understanding and appreciation of Automation testing as well as Manual
  • The successful Tester will need to be able to read scripts and work very closely with the Developers and the Scrum Master, they need to be able to confidently communicate any errors, meaning not only will they have to test the code, but they'll have to read the code too.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamically changing environment
  • Knowledge and experience of testing APIs and in writing, executing and automating test scenarios for various web technologies
  • Good knowledge and experience of an Programming language
  • Knowledge and experience of using BDD frameworks such as Cucumber
  • Experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (GitHub, Zenhub, Jenkins etc.)
  • Understanding of containerisation (Docker etc.)
  • Understanding of web technologies (Json, XML, HTML, JavaScript etc.)
  • Strong communication skills, good team player and strong analytical skills
  • Experience of testing software in an agile delivery environment

  • Highly desirable: Charles Proxy, Fiddler, Wireshark
