Surveyor - Topographical

£24895-34943 plus vehicle, excellent overtime and package

Based either in Birmingham / Crewe - UK wide travel within role

Experis are recruiting on behalf of our Client a leading Engineering Support Services organisation for an experienced Topographical Surveying professional to join their team in either Hamilton, Birmingham or Crewe to deliver a variety of surveying work packages throughout the UK.

The main responsibilities for this role are as follows -

  • All aspects of the technical delivery of individual survey projects
  • Carry out all site works in a safe and efficient manner
  • Foster a service culture with external and internal clients to promote, encourage and sustain business
  • Remain fully conversant with the latest technology and innovative working practices to enable the cost effective and efficient delivery of project / contract work
  • Assist the Survey Manager in the mentoring of trainees and graduates in a manner which encourages and assists them to reach their potential
  • Ensure agreed performance and other KPI targets are met
  • Assist in the preparation of cost effective contract submissions including method statements
  • Keep robust records of costs incurred and accrued on all projects under your control and prepare accounts for submission to the Survey Manager
  • Travel UK wide as required so regular overnight stays away from base location - including some nightshift and weekend working

The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience -

  • Degree qualified or HND / HNC with experience in a topographical surveying role
  • Fully conversant with all aspects of topographical surveying, including the use of the latest Total Stations, data collection of both static and RTK GPS surveys, Route clearance surveys, deformation surveys, elevation surveys
  • Must have a sound understanding of the OS active network, the benefits and uses it presents
  • Be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of data processing strategies using an industry recognised data processing package
  • Experience of managing smaller contracts and supervision of junior staff on site
  • PTS or ability to gain PTS
  • IT Literate
  • UK Drivers Licence
  • Flexible - must be prepared to spend time away from home base - including occasional nightshift and weekend working

This is a varied surveying role with a leading FTSE100 Engineering business, covering a variety of sectors. Generous overtime and holiday entitlement and a core 35 hour working week with vehicle made available as well as all travel and subsistence costs when working away from home.
