Salary range: £24,876 - £42,991 depending on skills and experience

Senior Application Support Engineer (SEO) = £37,428 - £42,991

Application Support Engineer (HEO) = £29,832 - £32,367

Junior Application Support Engineer (EO) = £24,876 - £25,965

These roles may also attract a DigiTec allowance of up to £10k depending on skills and experience.

Join the DVLA as an Application Support Engineer, and you'll help build world class digital services that pave the way for future business transformation.

Working within the Applications Development and Support Team, you'll be responsible for the technical implementation of applications and technical designs. You'll also provide day-to-day application support - responding to incidents within agreed service levels; creating test defects; and providing input into major incident and problem management processes, where necessary.

We're looking for Application Support Engineers who have previous experience in application development using recognised programming languages, and who have the drive and willingness to learn new languages and platforms. You'll also have experience in leading or supporting in the design, development, testing and quality assurance of bespoke applications. Finally, you'll have excellent analytical and communication skills, with a continuous improvement mind-set.

In this role, you'll be required to work an extended hours shift pattern (6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm). An indicative shift allowance of 20% is applicable for extended hours roles. You'll also need to be available on a rota basis to undertake out-of-hours activities and provide on-call cover to support the service.
