About Us

Our client specialises in the design and manufacture of a range of state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial and Surface Target systems including the world leading Banshee target. The targets are used to enable realistic weapons test and evaluation and operator training in over 40 countries worldwide, providing a complete managed service in over 15 of these countries.

The Role

We are currently seeking to recruit an Application Software Engineer to carry out application software design work on various customer and projects relating to unmanned air vehicles, aerial targets, surface/marine targets and related technologies. In particular for the command and control software running on PC's and associated software tools.

The role will involve:

  • The designing, implementation and maintenance of PC based software applications using Microsoft Visual Studio with the C++, C# and Visual Basic languages.
  • The design, implementation and maintenance of PC based test programs
  • Software prototype testing.
  • The production and maintenance of design records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Production support.
  • Providing support to Field Services and Trials activities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be degree qualified in Software Engineering or a related field with education covering the development of PC based applications.
  • Have extensive experience of software development
  • Have experience of using MS Visual Studio programming in visual basic / C++ / C#
  • Be competent in technical report writing
  • Have a high level of competency using Microsoft Word/Excel/Visio & PowerPoint is essential.
  • Have demonstrable interest in aviation desirable but not essential
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have a genuine interest to work with product realisation
  • Be creative and pragmatic
  • Be interested and willing to handle a diverse portfolio of projects and assignments
  • Be self-driven and able to deliver
  • Use structured and documented work methods
