SC Application Architect (EAI)

Our client is a global technology company that provides hardware, software, cloud-based services and cognitive computing. They require an SC Application Architect to join their team. The successful candidate will:

  • Be part of a team that manage the software configuration and deployment for a number of complex set of integrated applications.
  • Perform the Configuration / Quality / Build management function for the programme development team, ensuring that the software development processes have been completed before s/w items are included into a build (RTC is used as the CM tool).
  • Manage the build process, including automating activity where possible. Formal builds will also need build audits performed. Manage the deployment process.

Daily tasks involve:

  • Contributing to the maintenance of standard development and test environments
  • Having an active role in complex design and code reviews of software
  • Managing, maintaining and improving automated code deployment practices across environments
  • Working closely with the development team on developing best practices and processes in the area of Coding and Code Management
  • Ensuring complete release notes pertaining to a development Bill of Materials and working closely with the test organisations to manage software movement through test and production environment several years' experience in software development
  • Good understanding of configuration management and source control
  • Scripting / Build / Deploy experience

Desirable skills include:

  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, including win10 and server 2017
  • Jenkins experience
  • Some experience of C++
  • RTC (or similar Configuration Management tooling, merging/conflict resolution)
  • Scripting to automate where possible
  • Build and deployment steps (using BAT scripts, PowerShell etc.)
