I am recruiting an experienced Administrative Assistant to work for a FTSE 250 engineering support services organisation as part of their Communications Team working within the Defence Sector based at Skelton Transmitting Station.

The Administrative Assistant will support the Office Supervisor in all activities, which are required for the smooth running of the Skelton operations, and will have working knowledge of general office routines/practices, including but not limited to answering phone queries, purchasing, filing, reporting, expenditure, annual leave recording, sickness recording and rota administration.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provision of an efficient, accurate and timely administrative support service to the Office Supervisor in all activities.
  • Regular, efficient and accurate updating of all in house information systems and any other relevant databases in a timely manner.
  • Supporting in the provision of accurate reports, as required, in a timely manner.
  • Handling all internal and external customers and suppliers with professionalism, in a prompt and efficient manner in line with company protocol.
  • Assist in the efficient and effective running of the department, ensuring all calls, visitors, requests and tasks are dealt with professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in coordinating and relaying any information to various managers, at all levels in the organisation.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc support activities / administrative duties as required.
  • Maintain strict security in respect of personnel information, held electronically and/or manually, ensuring all comply with legislation including the Data Protection Regulations, inclusive of ensuring security of the Office(s).


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • A full UK Driving Licence.
  • To be eligible for SC level (UK) security clearance.
