My client, a well-known automotive company based in Coventry, is currently seeking an interim Accounting Supervisor to join their transactional finance department on a short term 3 month contract.

You should ideally be immediately available or on a maximum of 1 week's notice and be able to work via your own limited company or an umbrella company.

The primary purpose of this role is to manage, train, develop and allocate work and responsibilities along with maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of a team of Finance Assistants.

The team account for financial transactions relating to UK operations on a timely basis in order to meet strict deadlines set by the group.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • A highly competent advisor to the Accounting Manager
  • Supporting the General Ledger Analysts and providing assistance to enable them to achieve their objectives and deadlines
  • Manage an efficient team of Finance Assistants with challenging but achievable targets
  • Creating a Training and Development plan for the team of Finance Analysts to facilitate their development
  • Being a key contact for other departments and functions such as Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll
  • Constantly reviewing, documenting and improving processes and procedures for efficiency
  • Responsible for the fixed asset accounting
  • Ensuring accurate accounting records

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Ability to manage and motivate a team of staff
  • Ability to assess tasks quickly, allocate priorities, and distribute work appropriately around their team of Finance Assistants
  • Excellent communication abilities with all levels of staff and management
  • Good at working efficiently under severe time pressure to deliver to deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel
