The Job
You will be responsible for preparing and manufacturing test samples for evaluation from provided material formulations using laboratory process production equipment and the undertaking of physical testing and evaluation of manufactured and received materials to determine performance and conformity with required standards.
You will also be expected to report progress and findings to Task Leads and attend relevant internal meetings, working in collaboration to ensure the timely delivery of programme goals and take responsibility for ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained; ensure quality assurance of raw materials & produced samples; and maintain laboratory equipment where required.
Produce and maintain written documentation of manufacturing, testing and other work, providing input to technical deliverables where appropriate (e.g. production of material test data plots for inclusion in reports).
Manage personal workload and operations, e.g. scheduling of manufacturing tasks with other users, to ensure effective delivery.
As a laboratory room officer, ensure appropriate risk assessments are in place for all activities undertaken, storage of classified materials, and that the equipment is appropriate for the work

The Fit
In order to be suitable for the role, you will need to have both GCSE level qualifications and basic computer literacy.
Desirable but not essential skills include further education in a technical field, current SC or higher security clearance and a full UK driving license alongside previous experience in materials, testing and/or engineering development environments and experience in electromagnetic materials manufacture and/or testing.
