2nd Line Support Engineer - Bellshill - 3 month Contract

My client, one of the UK's leading Education technology companies are looking to take on 3 2nd Line Support Engineers to work on site with them in Bellshill. The position will be on an initial 3 month contract basis and can offer from £15 - £18 per hour.

Role Background:

  • The successful will join an existing team that provides 2nd line support to various customer sites across the UK.
  • You will be responding to incidents logged by customers and on site engineers via phone, email or online, and will be responsible for managing the issue through to resolution.
  • These could include issues with client equipment, 3rd party software of equipment used on customer sites and in some cases basic network problems.
  • As part of the role you will also be required to ensure all systems and change request forms used to carry out work activities are updated in real time including accurate call notes.

Essential Experience/Skills:

  • Candidates should have prior experience of working in a 2nd/3rd line position ideally dealing with large volume of tickets from customers and end users.
  • The client and customer use a wide range of technologies and tools on site so experience with a mix of the following would be ideal;
    • Office 365
    • Google Suite
    • Server 2008/12
    • Windows 7/8/10
    • Active Directory including group policies
    • DNS/ DHCP & WINS.
    • Basic Network infrastructure
    • VMWare
    • Citrix
    • Apple Devices/OS
  • You will be dealing with customers from across the UK so you will need excellent communication skills and be comfortable working under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Candidates should be eligible and willing to undergo a basic background check prior to going on site.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • As you will be working in a live service environment an understanding and appreciation of ITIL processes would be beneficial.
  • Any prior experience of working with Schools or in the Education sector would also be of interest.
