The roleA global leading defence and technology company who have invested billions of pounds on innovation are working with high profile clients on exciting, cutting edge projects.Your role will support the delivery of hydro-acoustic tasks that will likely include elements of experimental measurement and numerical prediction undertaken using test facilities within the UK and Europe and a high performance computing cluster.You will work with the domain lead, task leads and project managers throughout the life-cycle of projects, from capturing customer requirements, through planning, task conduct, data analysis to delivering results by written reports and oral presentations. The fit You will hold a degree in a technical applied science/engineering subject appropriately aligned with acoustical/optical/fluid measurements/modelling or mechanical/naval architecture.You will have Mathematical ability sufficient for performing mechanical, acoustical and vibration calculations/predictions/data manipulation in MatLab and Excel.Experience with noise, vibration and flow measurements - with or without laser systems (e.g. LDV, LDA: laser Doppler vibrometry/velocimetry) is desirableIf you are from a physical science or applied engineering background that would be desirableExperience of acoustic or flow testing in Wind/ (preferably) Water Tunnel tests is desirableYou need not come from a maritime background, however you would need to express a strong interest in transferring to the maritime sector If you can see yourself in this role, great!
