Our client in the financial services sector is currently looking for a Solutions Consultant for a 9 month contract based in Bristol.
The role is customer-facing with the Solution Consultant acting as a single point of contact within the Solution Design Authority for solution delivery on key client projects.
The Solutions consultant will work closely with Architecture to deliver the solution design on assigned projects, and supports the project manager to ensure technical deliverables within the project are delivered on time, cost effectively and meet the required specifications.
Key skills and experience:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation and influencing skills.
* Ability to build-up and maintain relationships with customers (Operating Companies).
* Experience of technically leading and delivery of technical work packages within large projects across a broad range of infrastructure technologies.
* Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs, comparing business, commercial and technical requirements, and make appropriate recommendations.
*Ability to liaise with 3rd party suppliers.
*Specific knowledge (or deep understanding) of:
oOracle DB, Oracle Weblogic, Oracle BIP, MS SQL Server.
oLinux and Windows (Server, Desktop, Active Directory, SCCM).
oCitrix - XenApp and XenDesktop, and general user access patterns.
oWeb technologies - Apache, Tomcat, JBoss.
oUnderstanding of Secure Datacentre Networking, Firewalls and Reverse Proxy technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical leadership for delivery of infrastructure solutions on major projects, and co-ordination of technical activities.
* Deliver solution designs for key customer projects, either alone or together with an assigned architect.
* Ensure that the delivered technical solution is correctly aligned to the designed system, and meets the approved functional and non-functional requirements.
* Develop detailed documentation of information relating to the solution.
* Working with the Solution Delivery Head, Architects, and Programme/Project Managers, and contribute to the delivery of solutions that meet business requirements.
* Promote solution direction and strategy, provide expert advice to accelerate decisions / resolutions on technical issues
