
Systems and Software Tools Manager (DOORS, DIMENSIONS, MATLAB, SCADE, VAPS, ARTISAN, ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT, WINDRIVER, LDRA). In this role you would be responsible for the engineering management of commercial software tools used for Systems and Software engineering in the UK such as DOORS, DIMENSIONS, MATLAB, SCADE, VAPS, ARTISAN, ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT, WINDRIVER, LDRA etc. You would join the Systems and Software Engineering Excellence team and work closely in collaboration with our global IT organization.
Responsibilities:
*Support the definition of a long term strategic roadmap for commercial tool usage
*Organise / Support / Prepare / Deploy engineering training for commercial tools
*Organise and support the evaluation of potential new systems and software tools
*Track the demand on tools across UK projects
*Liaise with Tools vendors on technical discussions
*Attend Tool vendor and User conferences
*Make decisions on licensing strategy of COTS tools
*Support IT group by providing Engineering viewpoint on tool usage and deployment
*Support tool licensing and maintenance renewals
*Be the initial point of contact for tools, coordinating with engineering tools experts as appropriate
*Provide support for the licensing and usage of certain in-house developed tools
*Co-ordinate with US Systems & Software Tools Manager on global tools usage
Key Requirements:
*Degree in Engineering or similar level of knowledge or experience
*Prior working level technical experience in tools such as those listed in the role summary
*Awareness of systems and software engineering lifecycles and processes
*Strong oral and written communication skills
*Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Desired Characteristics:
*Extensive technical knowledge in tools such as those listed in the role summary
*Experience of working systems engineering and/or software engineering activity
*Lean / Six Sigma training
*Experience with Model Based Development (MBD) concepts and simulation tools
*Ability to achieve results in a matrix environment
*Ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment
*Ability to engage and build positive relationships with both customers and internal and external employees
