SQL Server DBA/Developer
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a high profile public sector client of ours, based in Cardiff. The SQL DBA/Developer will be responsible for reforming a number of heritage databases and migrating these many different sources into a single server stack. The work and overall project in general is related to GIS technologies and spatial data types.
Key responsibilities:
* Analysis of existing data models and structures (Excel, Microsoft Access)
* Development of new data models and structures (SQL Server 2008R2)
* Population of data from legacy systems, including spatial and non-spatial types
Essential skills required:
* Database administration/management
* Data modelling and design for SQL Server 2008R2 platform, including spatial data
Desirable skills:
* Previous experience of working within government/public sector
* ETL, including spatial ETL
* Formal data modelling e.g. UML
* .NET development
The successful candidate must have, or be willing to undergo, security clearance.
