Our client is looking for an experienced SMS/SCCM Support Specialist for an initial 3 month contract based in Rotherham.
Key activities will include:
*Strong trouble shooting skills of a multilayered SMS\SCCM infrastructure and its clients
*Publishing/testing and deployment of MSI-packaged applications.
*Producing reports on success rates of all deployed applications.
*Produce custom reports (Query etc)
*Ability to create customised queries for deployments
*Administration and support of SMS\SCCM Asset Management features.
*Liaising with on-site application discovery team and applications packaging team.
*Resolutions of problem/change requests within contracted SLA targets and working with Help Desk Analysts to ensure users are regularly updated. Ability to use a call a logging system
*Manage the deployment of Windows updates via SCCM \SMS (WSUS\ITMU)
*Good team working skills
The candidate must be SC Secuirty Cleared, or will have to go through the SC Security Clearance process.
Technical Skills required:
Experience/skills - Essential:
*Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 (SMS2003)
*Good Knowledge and experience of SCCM
*Experience working in a 2nd/3rd level support environment.
*Working with a call logging and resolution system
*Understanding of ITIL and working in a process driven environment.
*Windows 2003 or 2008 knowledge
Experience/skills - Desirable:
*Knowledge of SMS 2.0
*Active Directory Services
*An understanding of Remedy/EARS
*Knowledge of Desktop O/S's - Windows XP\ Vista and windows 7.
*Scripting, PowerShell
*OSD deployment troubleshooting (PXE services etc)
*Strong Server support knowledge
*Knowledge of AD infrastructures and networking infrastructure
*Have a Server support based back ground
Other skills required:
*Very Client focused with regards to service delivery.
*Self-driven and able to work by yourself or within a team
*Good analytical and troubleshooting skills (the ability to think logically through a problem).
