
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a cutting edge NHS IT agency as a Senior Network Engineer to join their ICT Network Services team which offers ICT Network services offer services both to internal and external paying customers. In this role you will take responsibility for proactively managing, supporting, enhancing and developing the whole of the organisations data and Voice Over IP network infrastructure. This includes taking responsibility for the security of the network, managing the organisations firewall devices and contribute to the technology strategy for the organisation
Responsibilities will include
Responsible for the day-to-day proactive management and monitoring, configuration and support of the organisations network including of a variety of Cisco routers, switches and other network devices controlling the whole corporate network; the corporate Voice over IP telephony system; CISCO VoiP Unified Messaging system; Cisco PIX and ASA firewall devices; Solarwinds Orion system
Maintaining network security
Contributing to the review of existing network design and develop network solutions
Liaise with customers regarding support calls and negotiate downtime for maintenance of any network devices.
*Providing 3rd line support within SLA's
*Lead small and medium sized projects with site wide impact.
*Liaising with new service customers and stakeholders ensuring that their needs are met in line with contractual agreements and negotiating with customers/service owners regarding schedule of downtime for maintenance of servers and applications
*Production of monthly KPI reports for ICT management
As the ideal candidate you will be a Cisco Certified (CCNP, CCSP, CCVP) Senior Network Engineer with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to prioritise and managing workloads and conflicting demands from customers
