Experis are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the largest blue chips in their Industry Secor for Project Accountants / Analysts. This requirement is ongoing due to a number of positions as a team is put into place.
Working within the Project management team you will ideally come from a Manufacturing/Engineering background and/or have experience of liaising with key internal and external stakeholders, engineers and project managers. Previous experience of MRP systems is essential as are advanced excel skills. ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualifications are ideal but not essential although a strong finance background will be.
Duties will include:
Acting as a business partner to the project team to drive business initiatives, growth, and profitability
Controling & reconciling all costs booked to the project. Driving & challenging Project Managers to manage overall budget; ensuring appropriate authorisations have been obtained for any overspends by individual departments.
Producing monthly project financial review packs, used as tool to control upcoming expenditure and highlight commercial issues.
Managing and maintaining accurate forecasts of cost to complete for both materials and labour. Maintaining variance analysis against previous forecast to drive continuous improvement.
Setting up and maintaining the contract accounting records
Managing invoicing and debt collection for projects
Providing ad-hoc reports to management or customers where required
Working with PMs to identify cost overruns in advance and manage project risks. Involvement as required in developing estimates, forecasts and business plans.
