
Post Design Support/Electronics/ Hardware Engineer (FRACAS, Obsolescence, Design and Aerospace) role includes: providing unit & system performance expertise, acting as the focal for product reliability, product maintainability & obsolescence. In addition the function acts as the design custodian for the manufacturing facilities both on and offsite, which may also include liaison with the end customer, dealing with change approvals, and query resolution.
Essential Responsibilities:
Post Design Support/Electronics/ Hardware Engineer (FRACAS, Obsolescence, Design and Aerospace), you will have design authority for your systems and products, you will be expected to project manage your own workload, drive and facilitate activities to improve the systems and product, engage with design specialists in Hardware, Software and Systems, create and implement improvement plans. You will take ownership of the system and product throughout the in-service lifecycle.
Activities include:
*Managing, reviewing and responding to FRACAS information with suppliers, customers and manufacturing facilities
*Implementation of product and design improvements
*Responding to customer and in-service queries
*Gaining customer approvals and in some instances, product certification
* Maintenance of technical documentation related to the product and/or system
*Management and resolution of obsolescence issues as they arise
*Management and review of maintainability and reliability data
*Definition and Implementation of cost reduction activities
*Design change management, including modifications
*Adherence to company design and post design procedures for configuration management
*Technical publication support for product repair, maintenance and in-service operation
*Resolution of procurement and manufacturing part / material queries
*Analysis & validation of alternate components
*Generation of design documentation including technical report writing
*Ideally to have some knowledge/experience with Intrinsic safety design (e.g. EN50020, IEC60079-11 etc)
*Some knowledge or past exposure to Fuels Systems; in-tank hardware, cable harnesses, fuel resistant materials
*Able to engage with issues at system level as well as component (LRU) level
*Some knowledge of software design/testing (ADA, PASCAL, assembler)
Qualifications/Requirements:
*Qualification to degree level or above in an electronic or hardware discipline or qualified through apprenticeship or relevant experience or similar level of knowledge and experience.
*Experience in working in a similar environment is required - preferably but not limited to Aerospace
