Mathematical Algorithm Research Engineer (Probabilistic Graphical Modelling/ Statistics/ Artificial Intelligence) for decision support and advanced data analysis.
Responsibilities
*Research, design and develop mathematical algorithms for advanced data-analysis
*Work closely with the technical fellow and analytics applications team to develop core toolsets
Key Requirements
*1st, 2:1, MSc or PhD in maths, science, engineering or equivalent
*Interest in math modelling and analytics
*Interest in advanced data-mining and data-analysis for decision support
*Experience of algorithm design, prototyping and validation
Desired:
*Experience or knowledge of mathematical modelling techniques pertaining to prediction, anomaly modelling, reasoning and optimisation (example probabilistic graphical modelling, statistics, or artificial intelligence)
*Experience of MATLAB
*Interdisciplinary communication to forge connections with diverse domain specialists
*Understanding of sorting and optimisation algorithms
*Appreciation of computational complexity theory
*Strong OO experience, preferably .NET
*Knowledge of design patterns
