Lead Network Engineer
An international information technology services company are looking for a Lead Network Engineer serving a global client base. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the latest Cisco network and voice technologies on a number of prestigious customer projects.
As a lead member of the Service Design and Implementation Unit within the Networks and Security Services Delivery Unit, you will be responsible for delivering tailored network and voice solutions to meet our customer needs and bid responses.
You will be required to meet customer's network requirements through the complete lifecycle of design, cost, implementation and support through to disposal. This is a technical leadership role to which Network Engineers, Project Managers and other service lines will turn to you for expert advice.
Job Requirements
- Experience of producing detailed designs
- Good knowledge and experience of specific infrastructure support services
- Experience of a client / server environment
- Knowledge of algorithms / methodologies for developing, building and configuring a system / network
- Ability to structure and draft technical documentation
- Broad knowledge of different operating systems and how to use these
- Knowledge of network configurations and protocols
- CCNA (or equivalent) qualification
- CCNP qualification or the equivalent experience
- Ability to apply Data Centre network solutions
- Checkpoint or Cisco firewall experience
- Timely decision making and decision quality
- Build good relationships with key stakeholders;
- Good analytical skills and an ability to define the precise nature of customer problems
- Security Clearable
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the implementation of new and modified systems in conjunction with clients to achieve identified benefits
- Implement and maintain a standard methodology for the planning and installation of infrastructure
- Provide technical input to other project teams, both within and outside own functional area
- When required manage and own projects at all stages e.g. proposal, design, installation and transition to support
- When required lead major projects and Transitions. Directing others as a project lead
- Assess user requirements and formulate technical specifications that are cost effective and accurately meet the identified needs of the customer
- Selection, design, justification, implementation and operation of technological products and technologies relating to any aspect of infrastructure

- Install and test operating software and associated products in conjunction with application providers to ensure that each element of a project performs to specification
- Plan and undertake changes to software/hardware as agreed with the customer
