A key opportunity has arisen within the Risk and Assurance function for a Fraud & Loss Investigation Manager. Reporting into the Head of Risk, you will be responsible for the provision of independent and objective investigations of fraud and loss right across the organisation. Supported by a team of two investigators, your key areas of focus will be:
- Ad-hoc robust fraud investigations designed to identify root causes which may include covert work
- Increase awareness of fraud and loss including internal communication, training and whistle blowing
- Targeted Loss reduction programmes including analysis of complex data, staff searches and location visits
- Intelligence led investigations - monitoring fraud indicators and working with external stakeholders such as the police and HMRC
Your work will focus not just on internal fraud and loss but also on 3rd party/supplier fraud, theft of intellectual property, system abuse and procurement. As the ideal candidate, you will have:
- Direct and extensive experience of fraud investigation work with exposure to law enforcement agencies and legal council
- Ability to identify fraud risk at a strategic as well as operational level
- Exceptional communications skills including negotiation, influencing and strong report writing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to interpret complex/sensitive data and spot suspicious trends
- Experience of data analytical tools such as SAS, ACL or IDEA is preferred but not essential
- Retail sector experience could also be advantageous but again is not essential
- The flexibility to travel between 30%-50% of the time (though seldom requiring an overnight stay) and to work unusual hours as the job requires
On offer is a salary of up to £55,000 plus bonus (10-20%) and benefits. You must be eligible to work within the UK to be considered for this opportunity
