We need you to drive forward continuous improvements in finance at Hertfordshire County Council, an innovative and transformed authority that continues to invest in its finance function.
As a member of the senior management team, you will provide key financial support to members and officers. You'll ensure the delivery of state-of-the-art financial reporting and analysis to support effective decision making while overseeing risk and sensitivity analysis and evidence-based improvements in benchmarking. In short, you'll ensure we have world-class finance standards.
An excellent communicator, skilled in presenting technical information to lay audiences, you will provide solution-focused strategic advice and constructive challenge to Chief Officers, Service Boards, and budget holders on financial matters. Developing and motivating your business partner team in order to achieve service improvements and efficiencies will also be a key part of your role.
You'll come to us with a recognised CCAB accounting qualification, preferably CIPFA, together with a comprehensive understanding of the statutory, regulatory, and financial framework for capital and revenue accounting. This will be matched by strong performance management and leadership skills. Your talent for translating strategic business objectives into focused projects will make you stand out
