
Engineering Project Planner/Analyst is required to assist in the planning, analysis and reporting of Engineering programs. The position facilitates project planning and earned value analysis activities to ensure a cohesive plan is established that lends itself to the identification of deviations from planned and forecasted performance as well as the implementation of effective corrective actions.
Essential Responsibilities:
Establish Project Schedule:
* Work closely with the Engineering Project Team in project schedule development. Work with the team to define the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and the WBS Dictionary. Trace work scope to project requirements.
* Maintain the project Risk and Opportunity register.
* Provide ongoing guidance to Engineering Project Teams to assure proper application and compliance of project management tools and processes.
Maintain the Project Schedule and perform Analysis (Schedule and Cost):
* Maintain the schedule with activity forecast updates and undertake schedule analysis of critical path and milestone variances.
* Develop cost analysis, and communicate results to program management. Prepare Cost Performance Reports (CPR) and assist with understanding actual variance to plan.
* Actively participate in presentation of the integrated project schedule to the project team and Senior management.
* Prepare project data to support internal and external reviews and audits.
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent level of knowledge or experience.
* Significant experience in engineering project planning, analysis and cost control, with a proven track record of assisting successful project delivery.
* Good understanding of project finance.
* Experience working with schedules within an Earned Value System (Integrated Cost and Schedule).
* Working knowledge of Earned Value Management standards.
* Proficient in planning software; Microsoft Project is essential, Deltek Open Plan Professional an advantage.
* Engineering background - ideally in Software, Defence or Aerospace.

* Ability to conduct special ad-hoc studies and analysis as required by Engineering Management.
* Understanding of estimation and budgeting process.
* Understanding of commercial project contracts and finance.
* Technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems.
* Knowledge of Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM or HUMS).
